Friends Only
Aug. 22nd, 2036 12:44 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is not just a blog to me. My friends list, is just that: my friends list. If you like my recipes, but don't care about the person behind them, you can bookmark my recipe post and skip the whole adding thing. It is updated as I post new recipes, so you will not miss anything new.
If you're going to add me and then drop me the next day because OMG I didn't comment to your first post that shows up on my friends page, then please don't waste my time. I don't comment on every post, and I don't expect you to comment on every post of mine.
On that same note, if you can make up your mind that you just don't like me after 1 or 2 days, I'd rather you don't add me. Take the time to go through my user info to get a feel for who I am and what I'm about now, before you add.
The majority of people added to my list, stay on my list. Most of my lj friends have been around since I created this journal. I don't do friends cuts or make people jump through hoops to stay on my list ("Comment if you want to stay!"), but I do eventually cut people who haven't updated in several months.
If you've given me some time and we just don't click, fair enough! You can remove me as easily as you added me. I'd prefer you comment to let me know that you've removed me, just as a courtesy, but of course you don't have to.
I post a LOT of pictures (sometimes videos) of our daughters. I always use the lj-cut, but if this bothers you, then again, please don't add me.
If you read all that and still want to add me, please comment! I am currently happy with the number of friends I've made here, but I always add new people who seem awesome. I will not add random adders - By that I mean, if you add me, please tell me! If I have no clue who you are and you've never commented to me, I will not add you back.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post, and I look forward to getting to know you!

Date: 2006-08-22 05:01 pm (UTC)I was thinking about making my journal friends only... but then wondered what the advantages/disadvantages of that would be... Any thoughts?

Date: 2006-08-22 05:06 pm (UTC)When I first opened my journal I was 100% public. But then as my friends list grew, I only felt comfortable keeping the personal posts down to just those I know.
I will keep some things public, but for the most part, everything personal will be friends only.

Date: 2007-10-06 08:52 pm (UTC)Anyway, wow this sounds weird, and I hope that is ok... I think we have a bit in common, and I would love to hear how your world is. I have never been to Canada but you interest me.
Can we be friends?

Date: 2007-10-29 05:11 pm (UTC)I have a question for you: On your userinfo page you have a beautiful header with butterflies on it and of course your username. May I ask did you make it? If not you then may I ask who made it and in what comm?
Thanks much in advance! =)
