Did this guy even read my profile before he tried to add me? Or did he just see that I was in Ottawa and thought that I would like to attend his little fucking protest?
Also, what is this majority he speaks of? Just because the majority of his "friends" don't support what Canada is doing in Afganistan doesn't make a majority in the country. I hate when people make those types of statements without having the facts to back it up.
i HATE SEEING PROTESTERS. We have them here in the states too, of course. I think it is disgusting that they would protest the war when men are dying to help others. There is no draft, you join the services because you want to. whatever.
As a member of Team Coast Guard, thank you for your support of everyone (worldwide) of the servicemen who risk their lives to so these "protesters" could live in a country where they have the right to assemble.
I live in DC, so I see the "protesters" all the time. Luckily people remember what USCG did during Katrina so I don't get pestered by them.
You know it's strange. Canada and the USA are the closest two neighbors. We have more in common than really any other European founded nation, but when it comes to the news, the average American knows so little about our northern neighbors.
The average American can name the presidents of France, Great Brittan or Israel, but not Canada. It just seems to me as both a voluntary members of the US military and as a college educated journalist, that we should hear moreabout Canada in the news than we do.
BTW, I love Canada, been there three times, I jsut wish relations between the two countries was a bit better is all.
It's our biggest and most dangerous mission right now. We've been there since 9/11 and it has only grown since then. Last week they wanted to send my husband there.
The Canadian Forces are comprised of about 50,000 troops. The teams sent to Afghanistan have more experience in peace keeping and dealing with foreign governments than any other force in the world--and that includes the Americans. If there's something lacking in our efforts, it's resources such as helicopters. If our numbers are a disadvantage it is that Afghanistan is the only mission we can effectively man right now.
Thx. I had a hell of a time writing my question out because I was a tad embarrassed that I didn't know. Guess, it's best I stay in the CG public affairs dept, and not in intel ^_^
I was lucky when I was in Kyoto for a week that the three pen pals I had lived pretty close by. The TV shows there were pretty crazy. I saw a lot of shows in the evening about school teachers, and one about a guy who thought he was a bus driver but was in reality a mental patent.

One of my boyfriends wants to go. I am right pissed at him. I don't want him to go.
If he does go, he better fucking tell me, AFTER he tells his parents and brother, of course.
