Not in my neighbourhood :(
I took the pooper to Critter Jungle today. I drove up and down the road twice before I decided to pull off onto another road and see if this mall was on the map. I ended up driving into the bloody mall by accident! lol
I’ve never seen Vicki so hyper before! One of the employees had his dog in there (a husky mix I think), and another woman stood near the entrance (where the treats are!!) with her dog. Vicki wanted to play with the other dogs so bad that I couldn’t keep her attention. I took her to the back of the store, hoping that woman would leave with her dog, and Vicki would calm down. We stood by the fish tanks for a while and I was laughing at Vicki trying to catch the fish. She’d put her nose up to the glass, then chomp as the fish swam by. hehe The woman still wouldn’t leave, so I brought her over to the toys to see if I could get her attention with a squeaky. We ended up buying a big duck with replaceable squeakers.
I went to this store specifically because they sell Happy Doggie Bakery cookies, and this cookie company is donating all proceeds from their big bones to Hurricane Katrina survivors.
ol_whatshername mentioned this cookie company a couple times, so I thought I’d see if Vicki would like their treats. Critter Jungle only had a limited selection of Happy Doggie Bakery cookies, and those bones weren’t one of them. Oh well, at least I’ll get to see if she likes these new cookies anyways. I let her pick out a couple of other flavoured bones from another organic cookie company.
When I went to pay, Vicki kept jumping up and putting her paws on the counter taking down everything in her path. Ugh!! She wouldn’t sit still. I could barely get my card out of my wallet. We have to get her in puppy school quick! She is really good at home. The only time we have to get her to calm down is when she goes after Munchie... which is all the time lol, but he asks for it!
I think I am going to enter Vicki in the Happy Doggie Bakery Pooch Icon contest. I’ll have to take more pictures and dig through some old ones. She is the cutest dog ever!! lol There should be lots of good pictures to choose from to submit for the contest.
Anyways, before I left I looked up the directions (bet from my first para you didn’t think I did, eh? lol), and saw this post in the
ottawa community. There is a girl missing from here in my neighbourhood. The Wendy’s where she worked is about a 5 minute drive down the road behind my house. When Vicki and I got home from our pet store adventure I decided to get gas, and this road was lined with cars down both sides. There are numerous cop cars and ambulances at one of the churches. Cops are cruising the neighbourhood roads. Everyone is out there searching for this missing girl, putting up posters, and going door to door asking questions. By the time we got back home, a big volunteer group had already made their way to our street. They came by and asked questions. I wish there was something I could do to help, but I know that they have more than enough people already. I will just keep my eyes peeled for anything suspicious. I live in such a nice area, that I am shocked a girl could have been kidnapped! It’s a very disheartening thing to have happened. My thoughts are with her family.

And the charity cookies are only from the internet, stores will not carry them because there is no profit for them. Sorry for the confusion.

The flavours I got were: Pumpkin Banana Bites, Carob Chip Cookies (with Peanut Butter), and Peanut Butter Swirls. They look and smell good enough for me to eat! lol Vicki gobbles them up with no complaints. :D
I still want to buy those Big Peanut Butter Bones, but I didn't know how to do it from the Happy Doggie Bakery site. It was only letting me order 1 and then bringing me into PayPal to pay for just the 1. Maybe I should send her an email to order.
