Woman Dies after Being Dragged by Taxi

A woman in her 20's is dead after being struck and dragged half a kilometre by a taxi in the city's west end.

Police say the incident happened at around 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the Kanata Centrum parking lot.

Investigators have closed the eastbound Queensway between Terry Fox Drive and Eagleson Road as well as Kanata Avenue from Centrum Plaza to Aird Place as they piece together what happened.

Police have not released any names and have not said what taxi company is involved.
