PAINT!
I got straight to work from about noon on. I took 2 half hour breaks throughout the day, and I'm currently having my third half hour coffee break.
Had a mishap this afternoon. I almost killed my husband, even though it was my fault. I'm still really pissed because it set me back 2 hours. I might tell you the story tomorrow. I'm starting to laugh about it now.
I ended up doing the wall going to the basement first. I didn't see the point in having all the walls on the main floor done, except that wall. It stretched over the arch from the family room to the dining room and runs down the stairs. I also did the parallel wall on the stairs. I stopped at the landing where the shelves are. The rest of the walls going to the basement will be painted the same colour eventually. It's just a low priority right now. At least the visible walls are all done. Oh, it was done in the same colour as the trim throughout the rest of the house, "Popped Corn" (bright white).
I am currently working on the hallway and the hallway closet. I'm just waiting for the first coat to dry, then I can put on the second/final coat and head to bed. The hallway will be all done, and then I can finally start the biggest room... the living room. I don't know if I'll even get a chance to start painting in there. The whole main floor looks like a tornado went through. All the furniture has to get moved out, and then I can start putting up masking tape. My goal is to at least do all the trim, including the window, but I'll just be happy to get the room cleared. I might take it easy. I'm trying to power through it all, but it's such a slow process.
And now my coffee cup is empty, so I should get back to work.

Date: 2006-03-14 07:47 am (UTC)Next time you want to paint. Let me know and just make a lot of food. I'll come do it.
I have been following along and have come to the conclusion I would happily do it. I am a painting fool and I can knock a room off a day...
And if I can't paint with a Jewish woman standing behind me fretting each brush stroke. I can certainly handle a goofy dog and her person!
Although I think secretly you are getting a kick out of it and genuinely are doing a great job and that's even cooler!

Date: 2006-03-14 06:36 pm (UTC)I am enjoying it, really. I've been getting a room a day done. The hallways, closet, and staircase is equal to a room. I wish I'd go faster though! I am a perfectionist, so I will do a good job. lol Today is going to be a slower pace. It's 1:30pm and all I've done so far is rip off a few pieces of tape. I'm dreading clearing out the living room. There's just too much stuff. hehe
