The Persian

You know what I want right now? A persian. It's a cinnamon bun doughnut with strawberry icing unique to Thunder Bay (my home town). Knowing I'd have no chance in finding an actual recipe for it, I googled anyways. I came across this page and this quote makes me sad:

The recipe for this popular, icing-covered treat remains a secret.

It's no wonder that nobody outside of Thunder Bayians have ever heard of the persian before! I love that Thunder Bay created this special sweet, but it makes me sad to think that the persian will never be caught on by the rest of Canada. I hate to think what would happen if the persian companies went out of business. (There are a couple places that make persians, but THE place to get them is The Persian Man.)

I don't know what I'm going to do for this craving. Ugh! Strawberry jelly doughnuts from Tim Hortins won't cut it!

Mmmm kitty. :D

I thought we took a picture of some the last time we went home, but I guess not. They are so good. I'm tempted to try and make my own by guess work, but I'm afraid they'll turn out nothing like the real thing.

Those PERSIAN...

...treate sound most delicious. *big smile*

And I'm sorry that there isn't a recipe that you can use to make it. :(.

Speaking of Persians, a furry one would be most, most, most lovely. *BG*

Hope that you and yours are doing allr ight, that things are going okay, and that you all have a good day, today.

God bless and take care. :).

I had some over the summer. My Mom brought some down when we was visiting us here in Delhi. Oh they were soo good.. It's the icing that really makes it good.

Do you know anyone back home that can send you some? I also miss the Hotio.

Wish I could send you some but they wouldn't be fresh by the time you got them. Sorry, kiddo.

I was reading a post of my sister's as it was just above yours in my f-list, and she's a total cat lady, so I glanced down and thought you said something anout a cat, and then I was like, no she's talking about a rug, cause I thought I saw something about you not being able to afford one, and I have no idea where that came from, but it was all so much clearer once I actually *read* your post. Sounds tasty, though!

*gets his eyes checked*... :)
*learns to write multiple sentences* :/

"What?! It's early!" :D
