This is essentially a brownis that you can add different toppings to. I made the Mocha version. As with a regular brownie, nuts would be good in the batter or sprinkled on top of icing. These dry out in a couple of days, so you may want to cut the recipe in half (reduce pan size and cooking time) if you aren't feeding a large group.

Decadent Chocolate Squares

Yield: 32 squares

INGREDIENTS
    4 squares BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate, chopped
    3/4 cup butter
    3 eggs
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup flour

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 13x9-inch baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan. Microwave chocolate and butter in medium microwaveable bowl on MEDIUM 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted; stir until chocolate is completely melted.

Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in sugar and flour until well blended; spread into prepared pan.

Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out with fudgy crumbs. Cool in pan. Remove dessert from pan using foil handles. Cut into 32 squares to serve.

Mocha Chocolate Squares

INGREDIENTS
    1/4 cup brewed coffee
    2 tablespoons custard powder
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    4 cups icing sugar

    2 squares Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate

DIRECTIONS

Prepare and cool dessert as directed. (Do not cut into squares.) Beat cooled brewed Maxwell House Coffee, custard powder, butter, and icing sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Spread over dessert.

Melt 2 squares Baker's Semi-Sweet Chocolate as directed on package; drizzle over frosting. Let stand until chocolate is firm. Cut into squares as directed.

Almond Macaroon Squares

INGREDIENTS
    1 package (250 g.) cream cheese, softened
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    2 tablespoons flour

    1 cup chopped toasted almonds
    2 cups flaked coconut

DIRECTIONS

Prepare batter and spread into prepared pan as directed. Beat Philadelphia Cream Cheese, sugar, eggs, and flour in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Stir in almonds and coconut. Spread over batter. Bake as directed.

mmmm looks better than the toast I just had, but I don't think it is suitable for breakfast. :)
