Boring stuff...

Well, I haven't posted in a couple days because I have been working... and there has been nothing worth noting.
Yesterday, I went through all the news sites that I can get through this firewall at work and thought I would post about something news-worthy. Would you believe that 99% of Canadian National news was "The Sponsorship Scandal?" Ugh, I think it gets too much attention, and personally, I wish it would just go away. >_< That's all I have to say about that, because I don't care to keep up with it. It's probably a good thing that there isn't much local news going on; news always tends to be bad.
I hope to be more lj-active in the next couple of days. I am off for 5 1/2 days starting tomorrow at 6:00am. Wooooot!
My first day off is hubby’s first day back to work. T_T It’s been like this for a month already and it’ll be another 2 1/2 months before we get a couple of days off together.
The good news is that I just got my leave pass back! We are going back home in June/July to do some camping and fishing with my family, and spend some time with hubby’s family. We still have to figure how many days we will spend there, and what day we plan to leave, taking into account the 2 days of driving each way. I don’t think hubby would go for driving the full 18 hours in one go. I am up for it though – I love road trips!
I took the cutest pics of my kittens before I left for work today. They’re such goofballs. I will have to post some kitty pics soon. =^o^=
I plan to make my mom’s Sourdough French Bread recipe when I am on my days off. She posted this recipe and another one for Sourdough Wheat Bread if you want to take a look. Here is the link for the Basic Starter Recipe, and the 2 bread recipes are here. They are awesome! I have yet to make my own though. My mom bought me a bread maker a few years ago for Christmas, and I use it all the time. I will be using it for this recipe too.
That’s all for now. Till next time… ^_^

Date: 2005-04-29 03:02 am (UTC)You can do so much with it! I have a pasta maker too, so I make the fresh pasta dough in my bread machine, then cut it with my pasta maker. :D I love to make pizza dough with it, or dinner rolls. The last bread I made with it was Ciabatta I made the "sponge" the day before and then added it to my bread machine with the rest of the ingredients. I baked the 2 loaves on my pizza stone, and they came out awesome!

Date: 2005-04-29 07:33 am (UTC)I would recommend a pasta maker because you can get it to the desired thickness quite easy. And with all the attachments you can get for it, oh my, the possibilities! I have a ravioli and canneloni attachment and make different kinds of stuffings for them. So fun!
To make the dough, you can use either a bread machine or food processor. You only need a couple ingredients, and can easily throw in some basil or even tomato juice to change the flavour.
Have I sold you yet? LOL
