Dear Ottawa Motorists,

When you are driving through the city at 5:30am please turn OFF your high beams. The street lights are bright enough to light the road. If you still require to drive with your high beams on, please turn them off before you proceed to tail gate me.

If you are the car in front on the 417 on-ramp, please increase your speed so that I can merge safely onto the highway. An appropriate speed would be anything faster than 60km.

Thank you,

Road Rage Minxy

Attention Building Employees,

If you are only going up or down one floor, please use the stairs. It takes me too much time to stop on every single floor for you. I work around 2 floors everyday and I always take the stairs. I wish I worked a floor up from the main level so that I could take the stairs all the time. The only time I do take the elevator is when I have to go up or down 10 floors.

When you have to wait for an elevator, that means there are people inside it. Please step back away from the doors and let us out.

If you must stop to chit chat in the hallway, please move to a corner or somewhere else out of the way. It’s very annoying to have to squeeze through a crowd just to use the ladies room.

Sincerely,

Stair Climbing Minxy

To The Manager Of The Grocery Store Near My House,

Please put out fresh bags of milk. It seems that every time I go to your store for milk, it’s all expiring present day or next day. Yesterday (06 Sep 05) my expiry options were: Jul 21, Sep 06, or Sep 09. As much as I like milk, I don’t think I can drink 4 litres in 2 1/2 days. If your milk doesn’t have an expiry tag (clip), please take it off the shelf rather than tying it in a knot and hoping some sucker will buy your rancid milk anyways.

A quick mopping on your floors wouldn’t hurt either.

Yours truly,

Grocery Shopping Minxy

My grandmother taught me to stand to one side when the elevator doors opened, to let the people off. I was starting to think she was the only one. People are so inconsiderate.

your milk is sold in a bag?

Date: 2005-09-08 03:26 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] minxy-baby.livejournal.com
lol Yes, our milk is sold in 4 litre bags. Each bags contains 3 smaller bags that fit into specially designed jugs, and you cut the corner off to pour.

Ooooo Here's a good picture of it:

It wasn't until recently... actually it was a comment left by [livejournal.com profile] a_healthy_me... that I found out you don't have bagged milk in the States. There are places in Canada where you can buy plastic gallon jugs of milk, especially if you live near a farm. I always thought the US had both types of milk like we do.

that is so interesting and different... you think it would be cheaper since there is huge recycling efforts of our plastic jugs here.

I wish milk was still sold in glass bottles

Yeah, you can't recycle those bags. My mom resuses the small bags that hold the actual milk. She cuts the whole end open and uses them as sandwich bags or to freeze meats in one pound portions. I think a lot of people resuse the big outer bags too. They're a good size to carry a lunch, or to cover a pie.

You can't recycle a lot of things here that I wish you could. Some grocery stores have a drop off bin for grocery bags. We can't recycle bags, and some grocery stores make you pay 5 cents for a bag. But again, I think a lot of people reuse the bags at home... for garbage bags, or lunches, or whatever.

The only thing we have to pay a deposit on is beer. We get the deposit back when we return the bottles to The Beer Store. If there was no deposit, I'm sure that a lot of people would recyclye them anyway. Recycling is free and easy here... you just throw the recyclables into a bin and put it on the curb on garbage day.

lol I dig the bagged milk! We have cartons too, but they are smaller. Our cartons come in sizes 1 cup (250ml), 2 cups (500ml), 1 litre, and 2 litres.

Oh, yes my icon is strawberries... from this post. ;)

No! *cries again*
I find bagged milk doesn't go sour any where near as quick as the gallon/4 litre jugs do here.

Heehee, the last one made me chuckle!
The 7-11 near my house has stuff as old as May! lol You really have to read the labels sometimes 'cause you can't trust everyone these days. We could sue them, ya know.

I hate those high beam cars. Some of them tho don't even have to have the high beams on 'cause their lights are bright enough. I can't believe some cars are actually legal with those lights that blind you on the road at night, esp when tailgating. And they expect you to go faster? Not gonna happen if they ride your ass with that light in your eyes!

From: [identity profile] minxy-baby.livejournal.com
Oh I know... I can't believe some of those lights are legal because of how bright they are. And when they ride my ass I usually slow down to the speed limit (I am already driving 20km over) because I need to increase my stopping time due to them being so close. If they don't back away once I take my foot off the gas, I will tap my brakes. Usually tapping my brakes pisses them right off, so they will risk their life trying to pass me in the most hazardous location... But hey, they aren't riding me anymore! lol And I only do that when the person is driving dangerously close on high speed roads.

Yup, people can be "goofy" like that. And road rage is horrible. It's like they don't realize the person driving is actually a person too, a human being, and not only they could die, but at one point or another, I bet everyone has driven a little slower, or hasn't exactly gone as fast as the guy behind them wanted. *sigh* Like I drive 52-53 in a 45, and I have people riding my ass just 'cause others are going faster in front of me and there's room for me to drive 30 feet closer to them. Oh well. They can deal. It's not like I'm going 20 like others.
